Varsity Girls Make History At 2016 PAL XC Championships Plus Meet Results


The top five finisher are the scorers in  XC  and the remaining two runners are called “displacers”( their job is to try to finish ahead of scorers on other teams).  Soph. Emma Madgic 3rd finisher overall,  led the team over the difficult 2.95 mile Belmont course, in time of 19:04. Close behind her finishing 6th was Soph. Beata Gold, in 9th was sr. Margot Bellon, 13th  Soph. Sophie Louie and 39th Jr. Lydia Villa. Helping “push back” the competition were “displacer” Jr. Miwa Ikeda and  soph. Kimberly Woo. Today’s race will send the team to the CCS Championship meet on Nov. 12th which presents the chance to return the team to the Calif. State meet!   On the Varsity Boys side the team missed the qualifying place to make CCS though it top two finishers made it as individuals. CCS qualifier Soph. Noah Strause ran 16:58 to make it along with Sr. Jason Leung who followed. Then in order were Sr. Patrick Lynch, running his first race of the season after returning from an injury. Behind him were Sr. Gael Cruanes, Jrs. Lucas Fayet-Faber, Pablo Siguenza and Sr. Ryan Chan.



The PAL day started with Aragon’s F/S Boys Team taking 5th spot! Scoring for the Dons were Frosh Nicholas Finke finished 4th overall in a personal best time of 17:45. He was followed by Soph. Alex Ma, Frosh Owen Dodge, Soph. Danny Williams and Frosh Justin Wong! Others on the team were in finishing order were Jake Cardinale,



Philip Yuan, Scott Sinclair, Brian Lau, Preston Schoenherr and Kyle Thompson! In the Open Girls Division the Lady Dons post a 3rd place finish! The team was led by Jrs. Brooke Hager and Melanie Moore, who came in one after the other! Then in a similar fashion in came Jrs. Kinako Miyake and Kelcey Dobson. Then it was Sr. Alyson Oross and Soph. Karoleene Armanian. And rounding out the team’s finishers was  Jr. Haley Ogasawara.



Aragon had only one entry in the Boys Open race Jr. Tommy Farahani! And did he make the most of his opportunity. Tommy entered the meet with a Personal Best time on the course of 31:59 on this day he ran 28:00 flat! This an improvement of 3 minutes and 59 seconds!!! Well done Tommy. Go Dons and on to the next challenge at CCS Championships.
