Next were the Evening events on the track. They opened with the V Girls 1600m race featuring Senior Margot Bellon, Sophs. Beata Gold and Emma Madgic. The race start with Emma taking the lead and pushing the pace. She continued leading but closely followed by a State XC champion. Things stayed this way until about 110m to in the final lap. When eventual winner Alex Stout moved by Emma to edge her with a sub 5 minute time! While Emma was disappoint with that result she was more than happy with the PR (personal record) she set for herself with a  time of 5:06.18. This is the 3rd fastest 1600m race run by a girl in the schools history. Meanwhile moving along at a rapid pace as well were Margot and Beata. They finished 5th and 6th in times of 5:25.06 and 5:25.34! Both getting their PR’s along the way. Other Girls running in the Varsity and F/s Girls 1600m races who PR’s were newcomer to track Brooke Hager and Sydney Hou. Great Job, Ladies. Next up was Gael Cruanes in the Varsity boys 1600m race. While Gael missed the medal spot he was very happy with a new PR of 4:57.13! Well done considering a late return to running after a successful soccer season which ended in CCS playoffs. Then came the F/S Boys 1600m led by Soph. Noah Strause who ran a PR of 4:47.45 and finished picking up a medal in 5th place in field of 78 runners. No they were not all on the track at the same time. Leading the Freshman group was Owen Dodge, joining the team coming from his Basketball season. Owen  ran a 5:06.75. Then Philip Yuan 5:35.91 led the rest of the frosh with Johnathan Rozen, Ankur Mathur and Gama Santacruz Huerta coming in behind him/.

Senior Patrick Lynch ,who had been battling a knee issue, ran in the featured heat of the 800m. He took 3rd in a good early season time of 2:05.05 to pick up a medal. In the F/S 800m fresh of a hard 1600m race Owen Dodge ran a respectable 2:17.93.

The final event of the night for the Dons team saw 1600m medal winner Noah comeback to run the 3200m (8 laps) race. And run it he did as he ran very smart race. The top runner in the race was from Sacred Heart  in S F. Noah let him lead the whole race…until the last 60 to 70m when he blew past him to take the number one spot and his 2nd medal on the night in 10:32.44! And a PR. Very productive day for the strong Don T & F team! Go Dons…
