The 2017 Track and Field Season In reviw


...Division of the Peninsula Athletic League. The Girls were the Bay Division Dual Meet Champions! They  edged M-A on their home track in the last dual meet of the season. In the last event of the day the Girls Pole Vault. Juliet Bost, new Aragon Girls PV recorder holder at 10 feet, beat the M-A vaulter  on the last attempt! The Boys team had a strong Duals season finishing in 2nd place to Champ Sequoia.



In the PAL Team Championship Meet The Varsity Girls took 3rd and the Boys 8th. In the F/S PAL Championship Meet the Girls took 2nd as well and the Boys finished 4th.



Some individual highlights on the season found the team with a host of All PAL performers and Central Coast Section Qualifiers:  Adeline Yu 100m Hurdles, 100m Dash ---  Shweta Ashokraj 400m Dash ---  Emma Madgic 800m, 1600m --- Beata Gold 800m, 1600m --- Margot Bellon 1600m --- Juliet Bost Pole Vault --- Melanie Moore Pole Vault --- Hino-O-Holeva Filimoehal  Discus --- Plus 4x100m Relay Team: Kaley Pon, Anna Chuakay, Shweta Ashokraj, Adeline Yu and 4 x 400m Relay Team Beata Gold, Emma Madgic, Margot Bellon, Shweta Ashokraj



On the Boys Varsity we had David Prager 100m Dash, 200m Dash --- Alejandro Tenorio 400m --- George Marshall



And some Notable Performances: as mentioned we have a new record holder in the Girls Pole Vault in Jr. Juliet Bost. She set the new mark of 10’0” against Sequoia on 3/23/17. She will be back new year to maybe increase her record.  Adeline Yu moved into 5th place all time in the 100m with a time of 12.99 plus moved into 2nd place in 100m hurdles in time of 16:29. Emma Madgic, Beata Gold and Margot Bellon became #2, 3 and 4 all time in the 800m. The same 3 became numbers 3,4 and 5 in the 1600m with Soph. Madgic closing in on sub-5:00 with a time of 5:30.68 at the CCS Top 8 Classic meet on 4/22/17. Emma and Beata Gold each moved into top 5 in the Mile run. Emma with a 5:08.17 at the Stanford Invite and Beata with a 5:33.82 at St Francis Invite. Finally Emma became # 3 all time in 3200m with a run of 11:24.17 at the Cupertino/DeAnza Invite. Shot Putter Salote Fainga is now 2nd all time with a throw of 35’2”. In the Discus Ane Vaenuku is now 5th all time with a mark of 102’5”. And finally in the Girls Triple Jump Maia Bhaumik is in 4th Place all time with leap of 32’’7.25”.



And now for the boys. While David Parger did not move up in the Top 10 Listing he did have a major accomplishment this season by winning both the 100m and 200m Dashes in the PAL Championship. A rare feat in this meet. Alejandro Tenorio moved into 5th all time in the 400m run in 52.08. Noah Strause is now # 5 in the Mile with time of 4:48.75. In Boys F/S 10lb Shot Put there are new #3, 4 and 5s---Liam Laughlin had heave of 46’6”, Marvin West had 46’1” and Paul Lautaimi threw a 40’8”.
