Dons take crown at Mills tourney

The Dons outscored Notre Dame-Belmont 13-10 in the championship game, backed by seven goals from Tessa Sell, to claim the title at the Mills Water Polo tournament. Goalie Hannah Flynn added 20 blocks, while Hannah Kawar scored three goals and Maria Vargas scored two. Sell racked up 15 goals through Aragon’s three wins, while Olivia Tobin totaled 11.

NDB (6-1) took second place, advancing to the championship game with wins over host Mills 11-7 and Mission-San Jose 10-7. Junior Michelle Kleytman totaled 16 goals through three matches. The Tigers’ loss to the Dons in the title match was their first loss of the year.

Maria Sell and Olivia Tobin, Aragon girls’ water polo. The Dons’ dynamic duo combined for 26 goals, 15 and 11 respectively, as they captured the Mills tournament title.
